GLOBAL METHODIST CHURCH 2024 CONVENING GENERAL CONFERENCE, COSTA RICA: A historic gathering carries meaning for everyone who belongs to the organization. For the Global Methodist Church, that community stretched across countries, time zones, and languages. Delegates gathered in Costa Rica while members around the world looked on, following a moment that would become part of their shared history.

01 · THE GATHERING

A gathering with meaning far beyond the venue.

Space City Pro led the technical production that helped connect them. Across three event sites, we brought specialist crews, broadcast equipment, and in-country production partners into one coordinated operation. Every breakout room was equipped for in-person and remote access. Every session had streaming support. Real-time AI-powered audio and caption translation supported more than 80 languages, helping people follow the proceedings wherever they joined.

For members following from afar, the broadcast was their connection to a significant moment in the life of their church. The production needed to carry the words being spoken, the people speaking them, and the progression of the conference from session to session.

That responsibility extended across the main program and the breakout rooms. It also crossed languages. A clear picture and audible sound were essential, alongside ways for attendees to understand the proceedings as they happened.

These needs shaped the technical plan: connect all three sites, equip every session, and make multilingual access part of the experience both in the room and online.

02 · THE TEAM

Bringing the people and systems together.

Space City Pro managed the full technical scope and oversaw in-country vendors across the conference’s three locations.

We flew in a specialist crew of operators, video engineers, audio engineers, streaming engineers, directors, content operators, and broadcast audio engineers. Alongside that team, we brought core equipment, including audio consoles, cameras, switchers, and streaming systems.

Working closely with local production partners, we coordinated the equipment, crews, and technical requirements across the city. The conference had one team responsible for bringing those pieces together, from room systems to broadcast delivery.

Bonded internet added resilience to the streaming operation. It was part of the work behind the scenes to help protect a connection that mattered to people far beyond the venues.

03 · BREAKOUT ACCESS

Following the conference beyond the main stage.

The gathering continued through sessions in smaller rooms, each carrying part of the conference’s work. Remote access needed to follow that movement.

Space City Pro built and managed every breakout room and supplied all breakout technology. Audio, video, screens, and conferencing systems supported the people attending in person, while Zoom streaming connected every session in every room to remote attendees.

That room-by-room preparation gave viewers a way to follow the program beyond its most visible moments. Access extended into the sessions where the gathering’s work continued.

04 · LANGUAGE ACCESS

Understanding the moment as it unfolded.

For a community spread across languages, understanding the proceedings was central to feeling connected to the occasion.

Space City Pro supported real-time AI-powered translation through both audio and captions, with more than 80 languages available to in-person and remote attendees. Language support was woven into the live conference, helping people follow what was being said as the program progressed.

The technology served a personal need: access to the words, ideas, and exchanges that made this gathering meaningful to the church.

05 · THE RESULT

A shared occasion, carried across distance.

Across three sites, Space City Pro brought technical management, specialist crews, local production partners, complete breakout systems, broadcast delivery, and multilingual access into one operation.

Every session had a path to remote attendees. Language support reached people inside the venues and those joining from elsewhere. Behind that access were the engineers, operators, equipment, and connections working throughout the program.

For Space City Pro, the responsibility was full technical production. The significance was helping a worldwide church witness a historic chapter together.

" Thanks to Space City Pro’s expertise, our conference was not just an event. It was an impactful and inspiring gathering that connected people around the globe.
